Mission Statement

“To respond swiftly and professionally to critical incidents in order to protect the lives of all involved persons; and assist agencies in bringing critical incidents to successful conclusion.”

Undersheriff Frederick Deickmann is responsible for the special operations division of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Operations division currently consists of the marine unit, Sheriff’s Maritime Emergency Response Team (MERT) and the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF).


Undersheriff Deickmann has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, retiring from the Middletown Township Police Department in 2013 as a Sergeant First Class.  While at the Middletown Police Department his duties included supervising the traffic & safety bureau as well as the department’s emergency services unit (E.S.U.).

Undersheriff Deickmann received his Masters of Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a Certified Public Manager.
