MCSO Offers Residents Great Opportunity Through Citizens Police Academy/Law Enforcement Mini Academy

Freehold: Sheriff Shaun Golden’s Citizen Police Academy/ Law Enforcement Mini Academy provides county residents ages 14 and above with a unique opportunity to learn about the complex roles of modern-day law enforcement agencies. Speakers from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s office and other public safety agencies offer insight into their roles in law enforcement as well as the role of citizens in assisting in those agencies in the war against crime and terrorism.

Enrollment in this course involves a 6-week commitment to attend weekly classes at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Public Safety Center in Freehold. Topics include Analyzing a Crime Scene, Distracted Driving, Opioid Awareness, Internet Safety, Women in Law Enforcement, Career Opportunities as a Public Safety Telecommunicator, Tour of the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, CERT Team demonstration, Tour of the STARS Building including simulator demonstrations, K-9 team demo, Tour of the Sheriff’s Public Safety Center, Volunteer Opportunities and a Law Enforcement vehicle display,,

Citizen Police Academy (2019) will have 6 sessions. Each session will take place on six consecutive Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to approximately 7:30 PM, at the Monmouth County Sheriff Public Safety Center, 2500 Kozloski Road, Freehold, NJ. The first session is on Thursday, September 19, 2019 and continues every Thursday until graduation on October 24, 2019.
