TINTON FALLS, NJ – Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden and the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners are proud to announce the grand opening of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office EMS Division, MedStar – Central Regional Headquarters, located at 200 Corregidor Road on the Fort Monmouth property in Tinton Falls. The new state-of-the-art facility will serve as a critical regional hub for emergency medical operations, strategically positioned, in a continuing effort to improve response times and place life-saving resources closer to the communities that rely on them.
“The opening of our Central Regional Headquarters represents another significant advancement in public safety and emergency medical services for the residents of Monmouth County,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden. “It will enhance the ability to provide rapid, high-quality emergency medical care and support our dedicated first responders with the resources they need to serve communities most effectively. My sincere thanks to the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners for their unwavering commitment in making this vision a reality, as well as EMS leadership, first responders, municipal partners and all those involved for the tremendous support of this major milestone.”
The new station will house four ambulances, the Mass Casualty Response Unit, the Emergency Services Unit Rescue Truck, and regional EMS supervisors. Ambulances assigned to the Central Regional Headquarters will provide coverage for Tinton Falls, Long Branch, Ocean Township, Eatontown, Shrewsbury Township and Shrewsbury Borough.
“On behalf of the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, I commend Sheriff Shaun Golden and his team for their leadership in launching the MedStar program and their continued commitment to expanding and strengthening its services,” said Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. “The new Central Regional Headquarters will help improve response times and ensure residents receive high-quality medical care when they need it most.”
In addition to serving as the base for Central Regional operations, the facility will also house the MedStar Training Division. Two dedicated classrooms will provide space for ongoing EMS education, certification programs, and professional development opportunities for emergency medical personnel.
“The new headquarters at Fort Monmouth will serve and better support our EMTs and paramedics out on the road by eliminating many of the logistical challenges associated with an agency of this size,” said EMS Director Timothy Sidley. “I’m proud of the MedStar team’s accomplishments and look forward to working with additional EMS partners in Monmouth County.”
The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office EMS Division, MedStar has expanded significantly since its launch in February 2024. It now provides primary EMS coverage to ten municipalities and primary backup coverage to an additional five communities. During that time, MedStar has responded to more than 22,000 calls for service, with an average time in under six minutes, and transported over 15,000 patients to area hospitals. This new regional asset will have a lasting impact on emergency medical services throughout Monmouth County and benefit, serve, and protect residents for generations to come.
