CRACK COCAINE SEIZED AND ARREST MADE IN KEANSBURG BY SHERIFF’S OFFICERS

A man from Keansburg is behind bars after Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officers arrested him on a criminal warrant and found crack cocaine, Tuesday September 21st. Eric Collins, 31, was wanted for failure to appear for arraignment on distribution of drug charges.

Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officers, along with members of the US Marshals New York- New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force were searching for Collins in Keansburg when they received information that the passenger of a Blue Dodge Durango, driving in the area, had information on his whereabouts. Once Sheriff’s Officers spotted that vehicle they followed it to 74 Lakewood Avenue where Collins was staying. Upon entering the house, Collins was located in an attic where he was hiding. After drug paraphernalia was discovered, Sheriff’s Officers received a consent to search the house and the Sheriff’s Office narcotics K-9 was called in and uncovered 14 grams of crack cocaine. “This is a great example of exceptional police work and I commend the Sheriff’s Officers involved for their quick and decisive actions,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden. “An arrest like this helps keep our residents and neighborhoods safe.”

Collins was arrested and is presently at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. He is being held on $100,000 bail for the criminal warrant and an additional $5,000 bail on possession of CDS.

The arresting officers were S/O Henry Muller and S/O Sean O’Neill.
