Freehold: Sheriff Shaun Golden is proud to unveil the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Flag Dropbox recently installed for residents to dispose of tattered or damaged American flags.

“It’s important to honor our stars and stripes by ensuring that worn out flags, which are no longer able to be displayed, are retired properly,” said Sheriff Golden. “By disposing flags in a dignified way shows great respect for our nation, and, those who sacrificed and fought for our freedom.”

The Flag Dropbox is located outside of the front entrance at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, 2500 Kozloski Road in Freehold and can be utilized seven days a week.

The flags will be collected by the Boy Scouts of America, Monmouth Council who will properly honor the retirement of our national symbol.
