SHERIFF GOLDEN ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM TO BETTER SUPPORT RESIDENTS WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

Freehold NJ Emergencies can be especially challenging for those with access and functional needs. That’s why Sheriff Shaun Golden is launching a new program through the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office – Office of Emergency Management designed to help first responders assist residents who need additional support during emergencies.

The Monmouth County Emergency Vulnerability & Assistance Coordination System (E.V.A.C.S.) is a voluntary and free portal that allows residents with access and functional needs to provide confidential information. As a result, county and local first responders can plan for evacuations and sheltering operations ahead of an emergency. The system will also assist emergency management officials in developing effective evacuation and sheltering plans for residents.

“Ensuring the safety of all Monmouth County residents is of the utmost importance, and preparation is key,” said Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden. “The E.V.A.C.S. system allows first responders to better plan for those who may need additional help during an evacuation or disaster. I strongly encourage residents with access and functional needs, or their caregivers, to register, so we are equipped with the needed information to respond more effectively when help is needed.”

Through a secure online portal, residents can confidentially provide information that will only be accessible to first responders and emergency management officials. This information helps ensure that individuals who may need assistance during disasters are accounted for in emergency planning.

Residents can register for the program in three ways:

  • Online: Visit the registry portal at https://www.mcsonj.org/evacs and complete the online form.
  • By Mail: Print and complete the form and mail it to the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management, 2500 Kozloski Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
  • By Phone: Call 1-877-MCSO-OEM to register by telephone.

All information submitted through the secure registry is considered confidential and will only be accessible to emergency responders and participating agencies involved in emergency planning and response.

Residents with questions about the Monmouth County Emergency Vulnerability & Assistance Coordination System may call 732-431-7400 for more information.
