SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDICINE DROP BOX TO BE RELOCATED

Freehold: Sheriff Shaun Golden has announced that the medicine collection drop box site located at 50 East Main Street, Freehold, is moving to another location. Beginning July 7, 2014, residents will need to drop off unused, unwanted and expired medications in the lobby of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Pubic Safety Center, located at 2500 Kozloski Rd., Freehold. N.J. The new permanent collection site can be utilized Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Medicine Drop Box

“The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office collection drop box site, designated by the Drug Enforcement Agency, was the first of its kind in Monmouth County,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden. “This type of collection site enables us to get our unwanted, unused and expired medicine out of our homes and to law enforcement agencies for proper disposal, and, it’s important that residents continue to take advantage of this opportunity.”

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office has been in the transition phase of moving operations to the Public Safety Center. Relocating the collection drop box is vital to that effort, since the agency remains an active participant in drug take back initiatives throughout the year in an effort to reduce the amount of prescription drugs that are readily available to teens.
