Sheriff’s Office Partners with Jewish Leaders to Address Security Needs

Freehold: Sheriff Shaun Golden was pleased to welcome members of the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Public Safety Center on December 15, where the organization met to gather information and learn about active shooter response and faith based security strategy

“I’m proud to have hosted this event for our partners of the Jewish community,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden. “It’s vital that all of our residents be aware of contemporary situations involving harmful activities by individuals or groups that may target segments of our population. That’s why it’s important religious leaders learn about issues such as active shooter scenarios to help ensure the safety of their organizations.”
A feature presentation was conducted by a special agent with the FBI. Sheriff Golden and Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni also spoke about active shooter scenarios and the response and safety and security of faith based organizations.

The Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey, a non-profit organization of Monmouth and greater Middlesex County merges its partners and resources together to fulfill the most important needs and aspirations of the community.
“The security of our community partners which includes Jewish organizations, synagogues and schools is a number one priority,” said Ken Philmus, Second VP & Chair of the Security Leadership Committee. “I’m grateful to the sheriff and prosecutor for forming this connection and relationship, which will enable us to share information and strategy as we support the entire community in being prepared and aware.”
“The threat of terror and violence affects our religious organizations and I’m pleased to have been a part of this program,” said Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni. “The unfortunate reality of the price of our safety and freedom these days is citizen vigilance and readiness.”
