SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO ENHANCE PATROLS IN PREPARATION FOR JEWISH HOLIDAY AND UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Monmouth County: The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office is remaining vigilant and on heightened alert as the Jewish High Holy Days begin with the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, and, the United Nations General Assembly gets underway in New York.

“The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office will take the proper steps to ensure that the Jewish holiday celebration remains peaceful for all,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden. “As always, our Law Enforcement Division will be working closely with local law enforcement agencies to take whatever steps are required to maintain the safety and security of the people who live and work in Monmouth County.”

The sheriff’s office routinely conducts security checks at critical infrastructures throughout Monmouth County. As world leaders gather during the United Nations General Assembly this week, law enforcement will have a greater presence and heightened vigilance. The sheriff’s office will be supplementing local police patrols at various locations, including ferry terminals and other major transportation hubs. In addition, the sheriff’s office K-9 units will be sweeping ferry terminals and train stations. Increased patrols will also be present at synagogues, schools and houses of worship during the High Holy Days, as requested.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office asks that people remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the local authorities.
